A History of Republican Loyalty
Stamper’s political record shows a long-standing connection to the Republican Party. Since 1994, she has consistently voted Republican, with financial donations supporting major GOP figures like Ron DeSantis, Donald Trump, and Matt Gaetz. These actions raise doubts about her sudden shift to run as a Democrat. After her primary win, Stamper released a statement appealing to conservative voters—a clear signal that her priorities align more with the GOP than progressive Democratic values.
Opposition to Democratic Leaders
Stamper’s disdain for Vice President Kamala Harris is evident, as she openly stated that she would not support Harris if she were to run in 2024. This level of opposition to key Democratic leadership places Stamper at odds with the very party she claims to represent.
2020 Election Confession
At the June 1st Cherokee Democrat BBQ, Stamper confessed she identifies as a Libertarian (really a MAGA), not a Democrat. She is an election denier and shockingly claimed that Donald Trump won the 2020 election against Joe Biden. These revelations further expose her as a political opportunist with no loyalty to Democratic principles.
Stamper’s Hidden Past
It’s not just her political behavior in recent years that has raised concerns. In 1990, Stamper ran for office under the Libertarian Party, going by her birth name, Karen Sacandy (@ksacandy). In 2019, she legally changed her name, and it seems her political affiliations have been just as fluid as her identity. Her history of extremist views on issues like LGBTQ rights, immigration, where she infamously equated Hispanic ethnicity with illegal immigration, only adds to the alarm.
A Real Threat to Democratic Values
Stamper is a threat to the integrity of the election as a fake Democrat in Georgia’s 11th District. Her Republican ties and libertarian leanings make her a poor fit to represent real Democratic interests. For voters seeking genuine representation, Tracey Verhoeven, the WRITE-IN candidate, stands as the true Democrat in this race, offering ethics and progressive values that Stamper clearly lacks.
The DPG Disavows Stamper
On September 8, 2024, the Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG) historically voted to disavow Katy Stamper as the democratic candidate on the ballot. This does not remove her, as it is a Georgia state law that allowed her to run on the ticket. It does mean that the DPG supports the REAL Democrat, write-in candidate, Tracey Verhoeven.
